31 AND AWESOME

Here I am, and my Mama is helping me cut my first ever birthday cake.

Time flies so fast, and now, I am 31 and awesome! I have witnessed God's goodness to me and my family for three decades. He has always been a good provider and He has always heard every prayer that I have. Now that He has given me another year, I am excited of what lies ahead. God's promises are really always exciting whenever you come to think of it. And for sure, this will be another blessed and fruitful year for me.

When I was younger, I am always excited getting up every morning whenever my birthday comes. I dress up, and look forward to my classmates singing the "Happy Birthday" song for me and then receive small presents. And as soon as I get home, there'll be fried chicken on the table and that is sure real! Admit it, fried chicken became a status symbol when we are younger. Back then, only a few can afford it. That's why you need to wait for your birthday just to have a taste of it.

But as you grow older, you'll realize that there are more important things than any material present that you can get. That fried chicken which means total happiness for you when you're younger since that is the only time that you can eat it, now became a food that you can eat whenever you want to. And because of that, I am thankful! That only means my life has leveled up in time.

So on this beautiful day, I got a year older and a year wiser. I had another year of life lessons with me that I can take wherever I will go. LIFE itself is indeed a great blessing and I am really really really grateful!

To have another year ahead of you is one of those things that we should all be thankful of. And also, those simple things will mean so much to you as you grow older. The clothes you wear, the house you live in, the food you eat, the water you drink, the comfortable bed you lie in, for being safe, for having a job, for the money in your pocket, for your good health, for those few friends that check up on you, and most of all, for having a supportive family.

In today's world where pandemic is still present, these simple things are worth treasured. Every day that we wake up, even when it's not our birthday, consider it a SECOND SHOT AT LIFE. We might be missing those grand celebrations that we used to have before the pandemic came in, but keep in mind all of this is just temporary. One day, we will go back to normal. We'll get to raise our glasses and party once again.

If you are reading this, it means you are still blessed with the gift of life and we should all be thankful. Let us be grateful for this priceless life that God has bestowed upon us.
